Light and Blooms

As I was packing the girls lunches this morning, I realized how much of a joy it is to serve those that you love. The girls could certainly pack their own lunches and they have, but it is nice to do something for them just because I want to. They appreciate the details and the gift of my time. It is the simple elements of a day that make up a lifetime.

Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm." Ralph Waldo Emerson I will never get tired of that first cup of coffee in the morning. To start the day in a quiet moment with something you enjoy is truly one of the simple pleasures of the ordinary life.

What a pretty combination of everyday simple beauty. There are many things to appreciate in each day, but when you catch one first thing to get your day started, it is special. Rain storms are in the forecast again today, so the sun light is even more appreciated this morning. "This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it." Enjoy your day.

And there is always a silver lining to a cloud if you look close enough." What a fun and perfect day this was. Started out early at a thrift store that is so dark and grimy but oh so wonderful for poking around! My daughter, Jackie and I were on the "hunt" for CHEAP wooden tables and chairs to paint for her classroom. Bingo!! We found just what we were looking for within minutes!! Brushed off the cobwebs, chatted about how wonderful they would look finished. Along the way we picked through old wooden frames and gathered up about 7 of them! Oh yes, we paid all of $8 for both pieces!! A square table and a high back wooden chair. And all of $5 for the frames. Once home, we got Megan(other daughter) out of bed and we all started sanding and painting. The final coat goes on tomorrow and I will share the finished result pho

I looked outside the other evening and this is what greeted me. Appreciating the simple wonders of light in nature is a good thing!
